Having the worst game of poker in your life? No one falls for your bluff, you call when you should have folded, and everyone won against you with a gutshot. Now you are thinking, you just head back to your home, (or shut the computer off if you are playing online poker), and watch movies instead and forget about poker. Even if it is tempting to turn your back on poker, you should not easily give up.
Why? First. You still have a bright future at poker ahead of you. Do not let one bad poker game bring you down. You can start all over again and take the loss as a positive thing. At least now you know you still are not the best poker player. That means you still have room to improve as a poker player.
Second. Losing is part of the poker life. It is where you learn what poker strategies can beat you. It also makes you see the areas in which you are weak. In poker, you should not only learn how to win, but also how to accept losses.
Third. Why focus on that loss when you’ve had better poker games? You can only be called a loser when you have a loser attitude. Remember that the one most important thing in poker is confidence. Poker requires confidence in your skills, yourself and in your cards. To bring your beaten moral back into shape, you should play more poker games, but being more careful. Once you start to win poker games again, you’ll realize that your confidence is back.
In conclusion, you should never let both winning and losing at poker get into your head. It distracts you from maximizing your poker potentials; you limit yourself. If you lose, stand up again and shake it off.
The key is to forgive yourself for the loss. Once you get back on track, you will forget the bad feeling you had when you lost that poker game. But it is not to say that you should forget about the poker lessons that the loss gave you. Because if you do forget about the lessons, then there is a great chance that you will just lose over and over again.
Surely, every poker player had his/her own share of bad games, even the experts would tell you that. However, look at them now. They are at the top of the poker pyramid not because they became bitter over their losses. Instead, they turned them into their strengths.
